Celebrating black culture at LMU

Several books are about to be launched which reflect black people’s history and creativity.

On 24th October, Chris Searle will introduce an edited collection of poems by Peter Blackman.  More information about Peter Blackman is available here  At the same event, Leeds Met historian Christian Høgsberg will reveal the long-lost anti-imperialist play ‘Toussaint Louverture: the story of the only successful slave revolt in history’, by CLR James.

On 22nd November, Curdella Forbes will launch her latest novel Ghosts, and Desiree Reynolds will launch her first novel, Seduce. Both are published by Peepal Tree Press, who are hosting the event.  More here
