Greetings from Heritage Corner. Social discourse and performance facilitation is what Heritage Corner is all about in promoting a shared heritage. There is always so much to learn. 

SEPTEMBER

24th, 6-8pm Wentworth Castle, Barnsley
LEAD, THREADS AND PETALS: a research-based project. Artist Carol Sorhaindo explores the intersection of British and African/Caribbean narratives through natural dyes on textiles. In conjunction with PavilionHeritage Corner will assist Sorhaindo by boldly contextualising transatlantic connections to Yorkshire, whilst Dr. Patrick Eyres explores the cultural politics of landscape gardens and explores the presence of a Blackamoor garden statue at Wentworth Castle. OCTOBER
11th, 11am-1pm – Parkinson Steps, Leeds University
…the final scheduled Heritage Corner Walk for the year(flyer attached). All are welcome to explore this unique African history trail, told through factual African and British connections and personalities. The event is free, but donations accepted. –  Inspirational poet Khadijah Ibrahiim has engagedHeritage Corner and Studio 15 to stage her new work – ANOTHER CROSSINGIt has been an honour participating in this project about migration and identity, particularly working with an award-winning team – that includes choreographer David Hamilton, musician Chris Campbell and publishersPeepal Tree Press. Come and join the team, with Special Guests at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.
Throughout October Heritage Corner will be working with schools and communities in London and Leeds, as well as hosting 2 Heritage Corner Walks for theLeeds University Student’s Union (3rd and 10th October).
