Leeds Midsummer Feast
Sunday 23rd June 2013, 5pm-10pm
Briggate, Leeds LS1
Imagine the heart of our city alive – not just with the noise of commerce, but really alive.
Alive with a wide range of people meeting, talking, sharing food, playing games together, singing and making music – and much more.
Let’s make it happen…
The Leeds Midsummer Feast is a free gathering for EVERYONE: people of all ages and backgrounds, from every corner of the city and beyond.
Full details and info at: leedsfeast2013.eventbrite.co.uk.
Just bring yourself down to Briggate – along with some or all of the following, if possible:
Food and/or drinks to share.
Cushions, rugs, picnic chairs, etc to sit on.
Songs to sing, and musical instruments to play. (Buskers, artists, choirs, circus skills folk etc especially welcome.)
Games and activities to enjoy with others (eg frisbees, knitting, garden games likes giant jenga, chalk to create a hopscotch space, chess, etc).
Maybe things you’re passionate about and want to discuss with others (although obviously please don’t get preachy).
An openness to meet new folk and have a laugh.
… And owt else that you think will make for a nice time for everyone! (As long as it’s legal, mobile, and ideally participatory.) This gathering is nowt except what we all bring and make of it!
Likewise, it’s up to all of us to spread the word. Invite your neighbours, colleagues, friends and family. Organisations are invited to send invites out around their mailing lists (using this text if it helps). Facebook is handy for this kinda thing. And look for #LeedsFeast on Twitter.
Check leedsfeast2013.eventbrite.co.uk for updates and news: we’ll amend it as ideas/suggestions/requests come in.
Hopefully see you then: Sunday 23rd June 2013, anytime 5pm-10pm, on Briggate.
