Economic inequality is an important driver behind most of society’s problems e.g. mental illness, drug and alcohol addiction, imprisonment rates, poor literacy and numeracy, infant mortality, homicides etc., it is also largely to blame for the financial crash and on-going recession.

Yet inequality is still rising.

The Leeds Equality Group is an independent group, linked to the Equality Trust, which was set up by the authors of The Spirit Level.

This meeting will develop and build on the discussions that took place at the 1st public meeting back in June.
